Check out our first concert of the season – on Sunday, September 17 at 3 p.m. The concert kicks off with the husband and wife duo of Robert and Kimberly Lehmann, on violin and viola, playing Mozart, Martinu and Carlos Gardel. It also includes Elizabeth Harmon and James Wes Nga performing songs by Franz Schubert; Ruth Matt and Carol Elowe playing Schubert’s Allegro in A minor “Lebensstürme” for Piano Four Hands; and pianist Scott Eaton performing Movements III and IV of Beethoven’s Sonata Number 15 in D Major.
Also, it’s not too late to purchase CDs (or downloadable music files) of longtime former member Richard Roberts playing some of his favorite pieces, by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, are available for purchase on this website – under the Donate/CDs tab.
The Portland Rossini Club is a group of Maine musicians that presents a monthly concert series of classical music in Portland, Maine. The club also runs a competitive music scholarship program.
Prospective performing members are chosen by audition and include professional performers, music teachers and skilled amateurs. An elected Board of Directors runs the Portland Rossini Club. Usually in early June, we hold a scholarship competition for college Music Majors in three categories – instrumental, piano, and vocal.
